Heal

This icon denotes the presence of the "Heal" effect on an unit

Heal is a skill that restores lost HP of units (Warlord included) when specific conditions are met.

Frequently associated with the Order race, heroes with Heal allow the player to manage units better, in some cases effectively prolonging their time on the field. Similar yet somehow different results can be earned with Health Boost, Regen, and Vampire skills. Differences will be explained below.

Heal can be classified in terms of Board heals, Warlord heals, One-time heals, and Continuous heals, based on the target and frequency of the Heal effect.

Board heals

Target of the skill is one (or more) unit on the board.

One-time board heals

Effect is triggered only once, usually when the unit with Heal is played or when it is killed. Brackets means the skill will be unlocked at higher levels.

Full Heal

A particular subtype, Full Heal allows to completely heal one or more units.

Comparison with other skills

Heal vs. Health Boost

Mostly associated with Order and Nature races, Health Boost increases the HP and the max HP of a unit at the same time. If the affected unit is injured, it will remain injured, even if its HP is higher than when it was placed. Units that are HP boosted instead of healed are still vulnerable to Drow's insta-kill skill.

Health Boost cannot be applied to Warlord, though the Warlord's health can be boosted before a battle starts by using the Royal Defense guild bonus.

Heal vs. Regen

Mostly associated with Nature race, Regen targets a unit on the field, allowing that unit to recover HP (up to max HP) at the start of turn. Albeit it allows for similar effects to continuous board heal casted on the unit itself, it's technically different since it interacts with other skills in different ways.

Heal vs. Vampire

Associated with Chaos race, Vampire allows the attacker to steal some HP from the target. This is a double effect of recovering some health (up to max HP) and dealing extra direct damage to the target.

Vampire cannot be applied to Warlord.
